Verify Tank 300 working keys, legitimate replacement support and prior-owner app release. Do not assume overseas connected services transfer with the car.
Inventory the supplied keys and accessories
Request a dated photograph of all supplied keys and relevant accessories, linked to the candidate without exposing security codes. Record fob condition, any emergency key component specified by the manual and what is missing. Check the final quotation against this inventory. The current sourcing guide helps keep a replacement candidate’s items separate from an earlier car’s file. A second empty remote shell is not a working spare, and a seller promise to send another key later is not a completed delivery. State whether replacement is included, who performs it and when both keys must be demonstrated.
Test keys independently with the lawful owner present
Keep the unused key far enough away that it cannot silently authorise the demonstration. Follow the actual vehicle instructions to check normal locking, unlocking, starting and any applicable emergency procedure. Do not improvise immobiliser bypasses or entry methods. Record inconsistent detection or warnings and obtain diagnosis rather than assuming the fob battery is always responsible. The 12V battery and accessory-load guide provides a separate supply-assessment path. Test relevant door and luggage access where fitted. A successful start with both keys inside the cabin establishes very little about whether the spare works on its own.
Confirm the legitimate programming and replacement route
Ask a reputable workshop what ownership evidence, vehicle access and part identity it requires for this original-market configuration. Obtain the complete cost of the correct remote, mechanical component where relevant, programming and any required diagnostic session. Do not disclose PINs or security credentials in a public sourcing message. If keys were lost or retained, ask the authorised provider about the supported security action and its limits. Electronic enrolment changes and mechanical locks are not automatically the same remedy. Preserve an invoice and a supported explanation instead of treating a cheap online fob advertised for every Tank 300 as a verified replacement plan.
Establish prior-account release and destination eligibility
Identify any connected service and ask its provider how lawful ownership transfer is handled for the VIN. Obtain confirmation that the previous account is released where applicable, then check whether the buyer can enrol at the destination. The software and market-support guide explains why app availability and module updates should not be merged into one promise. A foreign compatible-model list is a regional reference, not proof of support for a China import. Do not rely solely on the seller’s phone to demonstrate remote functions. A vehicle can have correctly functioning physical keys while connected services remain unavailable to the new owner.
Protect personal data without erasing condition evidence
With permission, remove paired phones and appropriate saved personal information through supported settings. Preserve diagnostic findings, repair records and any inspection evidence before a reset. A cleared infotainment screen does not prove every remote account has been disconnected. Do not request the previous owner’s password as a transfer method. Keep the handover focused on the documented provider process and the buyer’s own supported enrolment. If an account issue cannot be resolved, record the practical limitation and any security concern requiring professional assessment. The vehicle should not be sold as fully connected simply because a dashboard application icon is visible.
Control key custody through shipment and arrival
Agree which key travels with the carrier, how the spare is secured and who acknowledges receipt. Do not leave an unidentified spare loose in the cabin or assume a freight agent automatically checks both. Retain the count in the shipping handover file and demonstrate each key again at delivery. Where programming or account work remains open, state who completes it and what the buyer can use in the meantime. Compare the total burden of a one-key vehicle with an otherwise similar complete-key candidate. A transparent, workable physical-key handover may be acceptable without app support, provided that limitation is understood before purchase.

Does the GWM app working on the seller’s phone prove transferability?
No. Confirm account release, the buyer’s eligibility and destination support with the responsible provider.
Can a spare be accepted without an independent start test?
Not as a verified working spare. Test it separately using the correct procedure and retain any limitations.
