Imported Tank 300 Warranty, Recalls and Workshop Support

A manufacturer warranty advertised in one country is not automatically available for a Tank 300 imported from another market. Verify safety campaigns, remaining coverage and paid service access as separate decisions. Use the actual VIN, original selling country and destination when asking the relevant providers. A normal road test cannot establish recall completion, and a seller’s assistance promise is not manufacturer warranty confirmation.

Decision brief

Check Tank 300 recall completion, VIN-specific warranty portability and paid workshop support. Separate manufacturer coverage from seller assistance.

01

Identify the markets that must answer the enquiry

Collect VIN, production information, first-registration details, original selling market and the intended country of use. Resolve ambiguous powertrain or model descriptions through the versions guide. Ask the original-market representative about the campaign and service record, then ask the destination representative what it can support. A no-result response from a database that does not cover the VIN is not proof that the car has no outstanding campaign. Do not substitute a visually similar locally sold model in the enquiry. Both representatives need the real identity to provide a useful answer, particularly where electronic or hybrid components differ.

02

Obtain campaign status and completion evidence

Save dated results from the applicable official channel and request the campaign identifier and repair record where work has been completed. The evidence should identify the VIN and performed action, not merely say checked. An outstanding safety campaign needs the relevant manufacturer guidance about the next step; do not invent a safe-to-drive conclusion. Establish whether a required component is available and where the work can be performed. The inspection checklist remains necessary because a recall result only answers the campaigns and coverage queried. Likewise, a clean independent condition assessment does not close an applicable manufacturer campaign automatically.

03

Read the actual warranty terms and geographic limits

Request a written response naming the relevant provider, VIN, owner circumstances and destination. Ask what coverage remains, the effective dates or mileage limits, required service evidence, exclusions and claim route. Do not copy a seven-year statement from another country into a China-export offer. Warranty transfer between owners and cross-border warranty portability are different questions. Confirm whether diagnosis, labour, parts and transport are included in any proposed remedy. A nominal benefit may have limited practical value if the car must return to its original market for assessment. Keep uncertain eligibility out of the vehicle’s claimed purchase advantage.

04

Separate seller-funded assistance from factory coverage

If the seller offers help, identify its legal entity and obtain the precise scope, geographic boundary, duration, approval process and expense limits. Determine whether assistance means sending a component, reimbursing approved work or repairing at a named workshop. Those are commercially different arrangements. Have material contractual questions reviewed by an appropriate professional rather than relying on a broad chat phrase. The buying guide helps preserve the accepted evidence and quotation boundary. Do not advertise a supplier’s informal willingness to respond as a manufacturer guarantee, and do not treat ordinary service coordination as unlimited repair coverage.

05

Establish paid support even without transferable coverage

Ask a qualified destination workshop whether it can diagnose and obtain parts for the actual engine, driveline, battery and electronic configuration. Confirm routine consumables and at least one credible route for less ordinary work. The maintenance and parts guide structures this support enquiry. For PHEV or HEV, distinguish high-voltage competence from ordinary petrol servicing. Ask about software applicability and component configuration where relevant, not only whether the shop services SUVs. A vehicle outside warranty can still be practical when paid support is credible. A favourable foreign warranty duration does not compensate for an unavailable diagnostic or repair route at the intended destination.

06

Make unresolved support a release condition

Keep campaign completion receipts, warranty responses and the paid-support plan with the final vehicle file. Decide whether required work must be completed before loading or whether a documented destination remedy is acceptable within the agreed scope. Use the first-month arrival plan for follow-up, not to postpone an essential safety question without agreement. If the only solution is a vague promise that support will be sorted out abroad, compare another configuration or candidate. A clear acceptance decision states who is responsible, what evidence exists and what remains uncertain. It does not turn a model badge into worldwide coverage.

QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

Does an Australian warranty advertisement cover every China import?

No. Obtain provider confirmation for the actual VIN, owner and destination rather than importing the advertised terms.

Does a clear recall lookup replace a mechanical inspection?

No. It addresses the applicable campaigns and database; condition, history and service checks remain separate.
